Tutorials

Most students choose a weekly 1-hour tutorial, but this can be adjusted to suit your needs.

How you’ll learn

You’ll undertake reading and writing – essential for English! – as part of your independent study. You’ll also be asked to prepare for your tutorial in advance and to do some homework following it, which Mark will mark and give feedback on. Sample papers will be provided and marked as part of the preparation for exams.

What you’ll learn

Depending on your needs, Mark will work with you on studying texts to understand their meaning and contexts, with a focus on syllabus and exam requirements. You’ll learn critical skills such as analysis and evaluation, as well as research skills and expertise in essay writing and creative writing.

Where you’ll learn

Mark teaches from his home in central York and over Zoom or Google Meet. If you live locally, he may be able to come to you by arrangement.
